University of Notre Dame, Dr. Jessica Hellmann
Partners: U.S. Geological Survey, Chicago Field Museum and Chicago Wilderness
$139,019

The researchers will model hydrology and ecology of the Kankakee River watershed, historically, at present, and under climate change to assess restoration of wetlands and waterfowl habitat, and to understand the effects of waterfowl habitat restoration on ecosystem services, agriculture, urbanization, and sportsman and recreational interests.
